Gaden House, Double Bay
We are so pleased with this approval by the Land and Environment Court, for alterations and additions to the heritage item ‘Gaden House’ in Double Bay.
The approved works, designed by Lawton Hurley, respect the heritage features of the existing building, whilst providing an uplifted façade, interiors, and two additional levels. The approved built form will present a high quality addition to the Bay and Cooper streetscape, and accommodates increased commercial floorspace in the evolving local centre.
Despite a departure from the height of buildings and floor space ratio standards, the proposal ensures consistency with the objectives of those standards and facilitates a built form that aligns with the desired future character of the area. Accordingly, our Clause 4.6 requests were supported.
An amazing outcome for our client and project team!
